Perhaps the most popular sports car from 1980 until Japan was the Toyota AE86. The car was originally published in North America as Corolla, was the “crown of a flower” and published in three different versions. It was also very popular in North America, was known as a version of the GT-S in production until 1991. AE86 sports car was also published in Australia as the Sprinter, but unfortunately not as good as the stock engine was poor sales.
